Reserving land for single-family only hurts affordability

Some argue that zoned capacity in the city is sufficient to accommodate growth without changing today’s single-family only zoning…that’s the wrong way to look at things if you care about increasing affordability…

The real issue is how much land is reserved for single-family homes that are more expensive to rent or buy versus how much land is open to duplexes and triplexes, which are much more affordable to rent or buy.
